I very much have concerns about todays youth, chief among them is to provide them with opportunities and wealth just like those that came before. Cutting them off at the shins especially in this economic climate with China emerging is going to make that very difficult.
I really don't know how anyone can argue that environmental issues, including without question climate change, will fall on the next generation to deal with because of our abject failure.

Look at some of the major "initiatives" coming out. The majority of them have some form of "It's For the Children". Across the spectrum.
My former school system's slogan was "Children Come First". That was changed when a series of sex scandals between staff and students broke. Too many jokes.

A few years ago coal was the boogeyman and we needed to use natural gas more. Now that coal as an industry and power source has been nearly destroyed the alarms are being sounded against gas. What? We were told that gas was the best thing and now it's destroying the Earth?
These young people have filed lawsuits against the Trump Administrations to do more on climate change.
Good for these kids. Since many boomers have sold out their future due to their greed, it is time these young people took their fate in their own hands.
Kids keep up the fight for your future! There are many of us who accept the settled science of climate change and will not mortgage your future for religious or political reasons nor to save a few pennies today.
I hope people start protesting about real issues like climate change and inequality compared to fighting for racism, feminism, metoo, blm and all of the other stuff which only benefits small groups but not everyone else. I'm happy to see people protest for climate change. It is a breath of fresh air.

Trump exited that deal because it was a bad deal. Most importantly China's obligations were only to reduce carbon intensity, it's wasn't cap. Carbon intensity is based on emissions and the GPD, China's is very high. The way you reduce it is by increasing efficiency, something they would do with or without an agreement. Their total emissions would continue to rise.
