Contrary to the New York Thruway sign, "small ask, wear a mask," mask mandates are gigantic government overreach. Masks take away our faces and make full communication impossible. They also stop children from developing the key part of their brains, the fusiform gyrus by which they will recognize faces and facial expressions for a lifetime. Masks on women are a key feature of authoritarian and jihadist ideology, and a test to see what restrictions on civil liberties the public will tolerate.
I was in favor of masks back when Fauci was telling people not to. Sure they probably help a small amount during outbreaks. However, covid cases are now plummetting everywhere, and we have three approved vaccines plus a dozen more in the pipleine, and they're saying keep wearing two or three masks even after vaccination. Now that the pandemic is over, I believe we need to actively push back against the covid anxiety and germaphobia that has been pounded into people's brains which is why I am now basically a single-issue voter against mask mandates.

Absolutely. I'm not necessarily anti-mask. I think I have a healthy "relationship" with its/their use. I travel a lot for work, and wear medical masks when on plane/in the airport. I think I'm able to put it/them into context.
However, some people are simply obsessed with mask wearing. And, while they may not be a majority, they're driving the conversation. We can't allow people such as this to dictate the hysterical obsession onto all of us.
Folks, there's nothing noble about irrational fear, especially behavior by some men. My goodness, since when did it become ok for men to behave so weak and fearful? Or consult an "expert" about what you should and shouldn't do.
Dr. Fauci has done more harm to the psyche of this country than Covid ever will.
I started going to the grocery store last week without the useless mask. People say nothing, and I know many of them are trying to work up the courage to do the same. Lets start a trend.
Honestly, I envy people whose lives have been so easy they feel something as trivial as wearing a cloth mask to help protect other people is oppressive.
I really want to break that 675K death record from 1918.
We know you do. Even though your comment was made in jest, you probably thrive on drama.
