Hurricane Maria 'killed 4,600 in Puerto Rico' - BBC News

About 70 times the official government number. Much higher than Katrina. Based on the devastation we saw and the stories of bodies piled up, the original number made no sense.

Annnnnnd that's what happens when you rely on an inept government to cradle you and be your mommy/daddy.

If trump had known PR was part of the US, maybe he would have helped more.

Then again, Stephen Miller would have simply reminded him of their color chart which they routinely use for Travel Bans, and Immigration.

I still say the reason Trump stopped aid to PR was so he and his buddies could buy the property for pennies on the dollar to develop later.

History is being written now. It will not treat Mango Mussolini well.

Because they are both based on racism.

Why didn't the Obama administration upgrade Puerto Rico's electrical infrastructure and why did the Clinton Administration gut the island's economy by removing the tax breaks that made PR an economic success story?

So far as I can find, President Trump has not addressed the situation in PR since his visit (where he delivered paper towels!) in October 2017.

Now, how many believe that President Trump will, in the coming days or weeks, address this new death court? Say something like,

"Puerto Rico was a humanitarian disaster, with thousands perishing either during the storm, or thereafter due to lack of potable water, medical services, and other necessities. I pledge that the United States will help Puerto Rico and get them back on their feet, now that a new hurricane season is upon us".

My vote: he will say nothing. Not even acknowledge the death toll.
