Immoral act of force like farm subsidies and Disability coming out of my taxes? Maybe farmers should focus on giving each other money and our tax dollars can go to helping the truly needy.
Uh your tax dollars, not mine, I don’t like subsidizing deadbeats.
And there it is. Oklahoma is supposed to be the 12th most religious state in the country but the answer is to call them deadbeats and druggies and kick them out.
and they want to send them to CA. who is the deadbeat here?
It's not just that.......We basically have two different homeless camps. One where people are drug addicted and one where they are not. The one where they are not is kinda on OK place. Some there have jobs but none of them do very well in a structured setting. They can't pay bills. They don't want to deal with people any more than they have to. One guy is always inviting but he won't leave any further than where he can see his spot. You could offer him a new house and he wouldn't be interested.
A couple people have beat their addictions there and moved on.
Yes, but that isn't the conservative way! Why offer food and shelter when you can berate them as " lazy drug addicted, no good blodgers" while making yourself feel superior due to your " hard work" and " go getter attitude" Now THAT is the compassionate conservative for ya!
I was being a bit sarcastic saying they could arrest them giving them a place to stay and feed them (with the implication of that being expensive).
are people advocating the severely mentally ill, drug addicts, and criminal homeless be compelled to accept medical help for their own sake? in a society that values civil rights, the homeless can not be forced into treatment or to live in a shelter.
tax paying citizens also have rights. allowing the homeless to ravage a community with human waste, violence, and used needles is not acceptable and should not be tolerated.
I don't think allowing the bankers to ravage our economy and get away with it should have been tolerated either but it was.
On a national average, it costs taxpayers $42,500 a year to have one homeless person on our streets. Best Oklahoma follows Utah's example (a Republican state by the way) and provides housing for the homeless which has reduced their homelessness costs to roughly $25k a year.
