Is the political Left or the political Right more of an enemy of free speech in the US?

Neither.
But Right leaners are more likely to be accosted when expressing their beliefs. Lefties are more vocal.

The left has stifled free speech in every country it has come to dominate throughout modern history. Violently, when necessary.

The right misconstrues freedom of speech to mean people are free to say what they want to hear.

Both are. Elements such as feminist and sjws who are left leaning, and those are on the right such as white nationalists and alt-right hinder ones free speech, yet such groups need free speech to get their points across and to gain collective following. I'm against alt-right, sjws, pro blacks, white nationalist and feminist, however such groups have a right to voice their ideas.

The left has people who get offended by what others say, the right get offended by how other’s live. I’d say both sides need to check themselves..

They both do it, but IMHO they do it in different ways. The left tends to want to stifle what they define as hate speech, while the right tends to want to stop speech that disagrees with them.

And the left misconstrues free speech as having the right to make people listen to them.
