I think you meant to address that question to the forced-birthers, not those who are pro-choice, because our answer would always be the actual child. But I can't say for sure that would be the same answer a forced-birther would give.

Late term induced labor is usually done when the baby is already dead, or brain dead.

when I was a ob/gyn med assist abortions were done up to the 17th week. That's far beyond the first trimester.

It's five weeks past the end of the first trimester, which is not insignificant in the development of the fetus.
