Posted this in the Elections sub-forum because the poll surveyed registered voters.

I just returned a few days ago from several weeks in England. I was asked many times while there what I felt about current issues in the US. Brits that I spoke with OVERWHELMINGLY expressed support for strengthening US immigration law, and shared their own growing concern over immigration in Great Britain. It was extremely eye-opening to learn that we share many of the same concerns, and are far more united in our opinions than any media would dare report.

I’m surprised and happy that 60% support a border wall.
I’ve lived in two different border states and seen the huge rise in border crossings, crime, drugs, schools declining, hospitals overwhelmed, etc etc. and where adequate walls were put up —They work!

Of course the real solution is getting rid of the magnets that bring them here, increasing legal work permits where needed, applying verify, and reforming visa overstays.

Odd that they don't ask whether or not people believe that those who knowingly hire illegals should be prosecuted or not.

They should be and that would do wonders to address the issue. They should be fined the equivalent of 2 times the average yearly salary per person. The money can be used to help pay for enforcement.

And yet, that important question was not asked.

California law essentially makes checking immigration status illegal. California is "the 5th largest economy in the world," so there you go.

It's funny because all these polls include illegals.

Illegals are also counted in the consensus, which influences congressional seats.

The Supreme Court ruled that it is NOT a crime for an illegal to search for or hold a job as far as the states were concerned as it's NOT the states job to enforce but rather the federal governments.

They struck down Arizona's law that attempted to do what you seem to think California should do.
