Nice analysis of Trump, who seems to envy not just Kim, but other authoritarians.
Trump’s Envy of Kim Jong-un
By Roger Cohen
...What’s really going on here is that the president is envious of Kim Jong-un, who has the absolute authority to execute his uncle with antiaircraft machine guns, consign tens of thousands of people to the gulag, and rule through a personality cult based on ruthless indoctrination... A monstrous regime, still armed with nukes, gets a pass because Trump dreams of building condos on its deserted beaches and seeing a Trump Boulevard in Pyongyang, but no pass for CNN or The New York Times if they refuse to kowtow...
This is what makes Trump so envious. He wants a country where everyone succumbs to his make-believe, a nation where everyone, without exception, would pound the sidewalk in inconsolable grief if he had the extraordinary temerity to die.
Did it bother you when Obama acted like a dictator? You know---when he dictated DACA, then emboldened, he dictated DAPA. Then the Fifth Circuit Court issued an injunction against DAPA. Obama thumbed his nose at the injunction and issued an additional 100,000 DAPA permits. It was only when he got caught, did he stop. Did you start a thread about that?
If you really fear Trump that badly, then I feel sorry for you. Perhaps you should look into immigrating to another country that is more to your liking.
What idiots. Do you think Trump should talk with guns blazing and expect to move the needle? Do you mean how the left attacked people then expected those people to vote for Democrats? LOL... That's the left's way and we know how that worked out. <sarcasm> And if Trump would be talking tough liberals would be saying he's going to cause a war. In other words, gigs up, liberals will never be happy. It's what brought them to liberalism in the first place.
Here is Trump's political philosophy in a nutshell.
He respects power. The more absolute power a leader has the more he respects them. The more ruthlessly they utilize that power, the more that Trump respects them still.
With power comes respect. At least in Trump's mind.
Because Trump respects those with absolute power, it is then true that he loses respect for those that do not wield such power.
Thus his disdain for democratically elected leaders, especially those in the West.
He views democracies as weak and feckless. Accommodation and compromise is for wimps.
Trump wants to be known as a latter day Caesar.
What he will be known as, is merely a fool, a charlatan and ultimately a failure.
Nice analysis of Trump, who seems to envy not just Kim, but other authoritarians.

Could you please link to a scholarly, peer reviewed history book where I can read about that?
Read Locke and/or Malthus.
