Perhaps the change of sentiment was related to Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea, coupled with their ongoing proxy war in Eastern Ukraine. And more recently, their threats to Baltic states, running Russian subs past Stockholm, supporting fringe/racist groups like Golden Dawn in Greece. And even more recently, a blatant fake news pro-Trump barrage on social media; conveniently - it has gotten them a president who seems more interested in Russian geo-political interests than American.
There is a clear narrative here, that I'm not sure how the OP missed. 2012 was 8 years ago - times change. In that time - Trump has changed from a Democrat to a Republican. So if we want to talk about hypocrisy, lets start with Trump - not some comment Obama made 8 years ago.
And, I do acknowledge - in the words of CIA director Micheal Hayden: "Theft of data is acceptable international practice." So thats not the point; the point is that the Trump team used information stolen by the Russians, and weaponized it.
