Clearly he was using the word as context, and he didn't mean any racist intent by it, BUT, in this hyper sensitive day and age of ours, he should have known darned well NEVER to use that word. Doesn't matter the intent or whatever, you just do NOT use that if you want to be safe.
Just the way things go these days and people should know better.
The founder and chairman of the pizza chain Papa John’s, John Schnatter, found himself in hot water after using the N-word during a conference call in May.
Schnatter made the comment during a call between Papa John’s executives and marketing agency Laundry Service, Forbes reported early Wednesday, citing a “source with knowledge of the event.”

I stopped buying from Papa John and threw out a gift card when it was declared the pizza of the alt right and KKK, so this doesn't surprise me. I already boycott them, so I'll just continue to do so.

This might come as a surprise to you, but bad people and people with different opinions have to eat, and there are bound to be some that do it in every place you do as well. You should probably consider a boycott of food just to be safe.

I think the point was that they are no longer going to patronize a corporation that caters to those groups. Not that it serves them.
