Maybe you need to take more than 5 seconds so that you can answer intelligently.
LOL, ok, nice back-pedaling.

Aw, so those people are weak in your mind. I gotcha. I know you’re just joking here.

I’m going to just focus on the sad beating, because regardless of anything else, it’s sad that someone is evil enough to beat another human to death.

The 43 children is unbelievable and makes no sense, but is not really relevant to the tragedy of the man being beaten to death.

Unfortunately, this story touches on a lot of the different ills of inner-city life.

It's important to note that having that many kids can include foster and adoption. The Duggars have some major competition.

Look at Genghis Khan. He is probably the greatest mass murderer, rapist, and pillager in human history, worse than Hitler and Stalin combined, yet he is probably the greatest biological winner. His ancestors, with his DNA, are billionaires, the poor, the middle class, the upper class, rulers of countries, inventors, poets, socialists, communists, capitalists, scientists, etc. His genes made a lot more impact on progress of human civilization than most any other do-gooder family who brought up their single child to be an outstanding human being. That lion is a winner as well. When all said and done - he is the biological winner. Just like one of your peasant ancestors somewhere down your family tree who had 10 kids, whose wife died in childbirth and he slipped and fell, broke his leg and died. Yet here you are. Both of your ancestors are winners. The rest of the people are just in the dust of history.
So why are some of his ancestors [sic] going to be better off than ANY of mine? I’ll be willing to bet that my descendants will be just fine, thank you very much.

I’m pretty sure you are joking here, or at least I hope so. But this attitude does seem to live in some of these men who father children they’ll never support. They think they’re so amazing when in reality they’re scum.

43 kids or not, his life was no less valuable. Any pro-lifer should be able to acknowledge that.

What an odd way to measure "success". I don't think some of my own prolific but monogamist ancestors were "successful" because 300 years later they have hundreds of descendants (without "benefit" of having 43 children - eight or ten per early generation sufficed).

What about other legacies: how many young lives were positively influenced, how many good deeds were done, how many hungry souls were fed, how many inspiring stories were told, how many works of art were made, how much natural beauty and wilderness were preserved?

What did this man do besides biologically sire children (I will not call it "fathering")?

Is the world a better place for his presence in it? Or does it just contain a large number of his offspring?

The FLDS and similar groups come to mind here. Did this guy claim to be a religiously-inspired polygamist or was he just a self-indulgent serial philanderer? Not that the two are mutually exclusive.

Yeah, well I guess you need to know the area in Chicago in which he lived to understand it's more than just a little unlikely that he adopted even one of those kids.

You are correct. And it's sad that someone would do this to him. I think most of us are posting out of shock of someone having 43 kids.
