Not a huge fan of Israel but they have a right to defend themselves. If they go overboard and pound the hell out of their enemy? That's what Israel always does. How stupid is it to keep attacking them and expecting a different outcome?
Then again, it isn't as if Hamas cares about the people dying, and they always make sure their leadership won't be in the affected area.
Israel needs to be MORE tough. That may be hard for liberals and Democrats to stomach, with their hearts who bleed for the wrong people. I feel for the Israeli civilians living under rocket fire, not Muslim terrorists.
Likewise we need to have an Israeli style wall built on the Mexican border and we must not budge when it comes to going after the illegals even if they bring their kids with them! I also don't think illegals dying in the desert is such a bad thing (or Muslim refugees drowning in the sea on their way to Europe) if it discourages more illegals from coming.
Every nation must put their own citizens first. Israel, China, Russia and Mexico all do that.
I don't blame Kushner for trying. Trouble is, everybody and their dog has tried, it's so discouraging.
A deal isn't possible at the moment, in my view. Realistically for one to happen you need both sides to give up something major: the Palestinians needs to come to terms with Israel once and for all and forswear attempting to destroy it either through violence or attempts at pressuring for a "right of return." The only thing they have to give is peace and they seem unwilling to give up fantasies of wiping Israel off the map to put that on the table. The Israelis, meanwhile, need to be willing to give up the settlements. The Palestinians need a coherent state, not geographically riddled with foreign territory. If they are to put down their guns and grudges they need something viable to pick up.
Historically I don't think the Palestinians have ever been willing to do what they need to to make a peace deal happen, and the Israelis haven't been since their uprooting the Gaza settlements was met with Hamas and mortar fire. So the peacemaking attempts are just a waste of our time.
Sigh.
To Israel an attack on 1 soldier, 1 citizen is the same as attacking the nation. This isn't a new policy, this has been their policy at least as far back as the attack on their athletes at the Munich Olympics. It really is simple. If Hamas doesn't want this level of retaliation then don't attack Israeli citizens.
Where is the peace plan? I dont know nor do I care. When is Hamas and the Palestinians going to stop doing stupid attacks, knowing what will follow?
If I had my way we would get out of that region and let them settle it themselves.
I would say that calling in the air force to bomb several locations but this is the usual over reaction, calling in air support because of a sniper attack, seriously.
You should care about the peace plan Trump clamed that naming the Jerusalem capitol of Israel was a first step so what's the plan, or is this just more BS by the Trump administration.

Yes, and it is definitely not in the interests of American citizens for the U.S. government to support over-the-top Israeli violence against its neighbors.

Agreed - it isn't in our interest to be involved, period. Nothing to be gained in that part of the world except problems. We're well on our way to being a net exporter of oil (although not quite there yet) - best thing is to walk away from the entire mess of a region that is the middle east. Iran can eat a bombing campaign if they keep developing ICBMs and spouting anti-American rhetoric after we've left them alone for a decade and anyone who does what the Taliban did should get carpeted in napalm, not "nation building," but if the middle east broadly leaves us alone we should return the favor.

All I said was that the Jews brought it upon themselves and now they get to "stew" in it. While it is unclear whether I hate Jews as a group, there is no question how I feel about the ones like you.
So - black dude blaming others for your failure to lift yourself out of generational poverty or white dude who has given up on not being a disappointment to their more successful father?
All I am saying is that you guys and your people will never have peace...and that is precisely what you have earned and deserve. Deflect and cry about the anti-semites all you want. Gives me a laugh.
Neither one of those actually but I see you're one of those pinheads who'd rather attack me personally than to ever admit that poor little Israhell is wrong in anything they do. Deflect deflect deflect! The Goyim are on to us!
And here you guys actually have the gall to wonder why people actually do hate Jews. Oy Vey
Israel does a lot of things wrong. They make constant strategic mistakes and were for most of their existence a mismanaged socialist basket-case (being a reasonably well run country is a recent thing for them). The accusation comes from you complaining about "joos" and is now confirmed with "goyim" and "oy vey" to the list in the context quoted. Almost everyone who I have met with a thing against Jews (and/or Asians, and black people who dislike whites for good measure, it seems to be the same psychology behind all of it) have broadly been people who personally failed, either in general or relative to their own expectations, and deflect that blame at people and groups who have succeeded where they have failed (in their belief, unjustly), so it's a legitimate question.

Carpet bombing the Taliban, the only damage they have done is to their own country.
Iran spouting anti-American rhetoric is no reason for anything, their support of terrorism is another story which we have addressed. I'm not ready to declare war because they chant death to the Americans.
Pulling out of the ME is really not an option, we are in too deeply with Israel, Syria, Egypt and SA.
