We have our idiots here, but mostly they just say stupid stuff but don’t do stupid stuff. I cringe when I see our governor pandering to the fundamentalists, but I know that he’s not as bad as the alternative. I imagine one day we could end up with someone like Julian Castro.
Well, if you really wanted to send a message that it’s not acceptable, then vote for the other guy. Then the Newsoms of the California Democrats will get the message.
The good thing about the crazies in CA catering to the interests of criminal illegals is that perhaps it will serve as a magnet attracting them from elsewhere in the country, in effect concentrating the problem in CA to the relief of the rest of the States.
I'd say let them have their illegal aliens but the problem is when the city becomes a lawless third world bed of crime and corruption and the people that can afford to move away then they could be bringing their Liberal baggage to a city near you.
When San Fran is over run by the sanctuary seekers I wonder if the state will give them a tax payer provided allowance so they can afford the expensive real estate there?

There is A LOT of spin and misinformation here. As a SF native, let me explain it more clearly.
First, David Campos is a fringe extreme left politician who was voted in by a very extreme left district and failed to appeal to a wider voter base after his term ended to seek higher office. He is like the Sarah Palin of the Left, except in the Democratic party these incompetent fools would never ascend higher than local offices. So Campos have been standing on the sideline, bidding his time to jump back in. There is a subset of very extreme voters who love him, everyone else in the Democratic party hates him. He most famously said the way to lower housing cost is to completely stop building more houses and tried to pass a law doing just that. He is borderline insane, he is on par with the crazies running the GOP and the presidency today; except again, the Democrats would never vote for these crazies to higher offices; unlike the Republicans.
Campos has zero support outside of his small district, and even there he is looked on more and more as a joke.
And now, he is attacking Angela Aioto's law because his small base is filled with crazy people and he is the voice for them. Is this how most San Franciscans feel? Not even close.
So basically, a SF politician is introducing the resolution in question and a fringe crazy ex-SF supervisor is having a fit with it. Is this news? Only in the land of the jumpy Right-wing. Campos, for one, is loving the attention he's getting.

MOST politician start out in LOCAL politics. they get elected to the city council etc., then move up the ladder
Kinda like obama started as community organizer. Became a State Senator WITHOUT having ANY PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE.
The people who run parties, like the guy in the Illinois state Senate saw in Obama, see what they think is a shining star person they think they can get elected and support them with connections and money.
So, don't be so naive to think these types of people do NOT or CANNOT move up to higher offices.
Heck, look at all the attention the socialist from a ward in NY is getting.
Just hire some antifa goons or have the police march in and start cracking the heads of the homeless or the illegals if they leave designated areas they are allowed to live in.
