The current health care system is on track to cost us well in excess of $50 trillion over the next decade. Its already at $3.5 trillion in 2017 and it grows 5.6% per year on average. http://content.healthaffairs.org/content/36/3/553

Thats more than $50 trillion over the next decade. And still we have tens of millions without insurance and even more with inadequate insurance and huge co-pays and deductibles to pay.

Do we have the guts to take on the health insurance and pharma lobbies so we can get value for money? Why does every cabinet and administration of every president have to be packed with the CEOs and lobbyists of the health care industry?

I know one thing for sure, healthcare is a ripoff in this country. Coming from Canada where private healthcare is paid for by a single-payer system, I took it for granted how great the system was. Here in the U.S I don't understand how I pay the same in taxes, but on top of that I have to pay a healthcare premium. In Canada, it's all included in your taxes. The more you make, the more you pay. Very efficient and economical system.

In the U.S the economic elite have managed to keep many Americans confused and misinformed on this issue.

Its one of the most cruel and unjust parts of our system. Health care is a right, not a privilege.
