I would really love to know how Manafort is paying for all this
It is INCREDIBLY expensive to carry out a legal defense at this level
And he has TWO of them going...
Not just the attorneys although that is certainly the brunt of the outgo
But he has all kinds of perriferal expenses for him and his wife
I am sure extra security being one cost
Likely his funds in most accounts are frozen
There will be fines on top of prison time if guilty
and you can't expunge those in bankruptcy either...
Where is the money coming from???
Does he have OTHER hidden bank accounts--selling personal items like paintings?

There is a funding site, not sure how successful but I imagine he put up his properties also.
This is going to be a long process - you don't just throw a man away in the clink for the rest of his life for tax evasion. There will be a long series of appeals and twists.
Manafort obviously broke the law years ago, can't see anything but guilty verdicts here. Why all the interest?
The burden of proof on the prosecution is to prove that Manafort personally knowingly and intentionally defrauded these banks and the IRS. There really was not very much evidence that plausibly could be said served to prove THAT.
But on a couple of points, it is a close call, so I will not be surprised to these verdicts could go either way.
It seems like the next case in September is more likely than this one to result in a conviction.
All of you who are jumping to conclusions here appear to be letting your partisan biases and your emotions get the better of you. Don't be surprised if Manafort is exonerated here for lack of proof.
