The choice between Reagan and Trump reminds me of Jim Ignatowski (Christopher Lloyd) taking the diver's license exam to become a cabbie in "Taxi" (the great late 70's sitcom).
When asked about mental illness or narcotics addiction, he replied, "Wow, that is a tough choice." See the 2:45 minute mark.
yeah but Reagan was against a lame candidate of Walter Mondale and back then the media and Hollywood were nice to Reagan compare to Trump today.
Reagan had the backing of the GOP establishment and Wall Street......Trump didn't.
with all of those obstacles, Trump won 30 states which is more impressive than Reagan 49 state victory.
Today,Reagan couldn't win 49 states or his home state of California....the electorate has shifted since the 80's.
Yeah, I think Reagan had the benefit of a more educated populace back them. Too many people now have become players in real-world "Idiocracy." They don't read, they don't analyze, and then there's the whole us against them mentality going on that was not there then. Reagan did not have to deal with growing minority populations in the U.S. threatening the majority and making them fearful.

Really? Did they analyze the savings and loan crisis at all? Did they realize Reagan was the best Keynesian presidents since FDR? But to have financial liberalizations of S&L and lowered capital gains on top of it. yipppie.

He set up the OPD to harass and threaten journalists, He armed terrorists in Afghanistan and Central America supporting genocide, he rigged low income housing to benefit his donors, he destroyed medical care for thousands of Americans, he armed Saddam with Chemical weapons, he even committed ACTUAL treason unlike Trump.
And yet you Democrats shrug your shoulders and say, at least he was a class act. You think this sniveling monster was a class act?
WHAT DEMOCRAT SAYS REAGAN WAS A CLASS ACT? I despised him to the point that when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s said, “it couldn’t happen to a more deserving piece of ____.” His refusal to even acknowledge AIDS for years when the medical community was BEGGING for funding ultimately resulted in the death of thousands. A”class act”? No, he was a heartless bastard who deserved all the suffering he experienced in his last decade on earth and more.
