Even CA Democrats are realizing how bad Dem policies are .

This gas tax is horrible and especially with so many Californians struggling . CA has the highest poverty rate when taking into account cost of living , housing costs and gas prices etc .

When California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law last spring a 12-cent gas tax increase and a new transportation improvement fee, Democrats hailed it as a way to fix the state's ailing roads and improve public transit.

But a little more than a year later – and with a gallon of gasoline costing about 80 cents more than the national average – some Democrats in key congressional races are siding with Proposition 6, a GOP-led ballot initiative to do away with the gas tax hike.

This was a rammed through Policy that should have gone to the voters, but didnt because the culprits knew it wouldnt pass the Voter Some politicians believe they know what is better for the rest of us, I guess, even without asking or helping us to decide for our selves.

It had to be done away with anyway. It was illegal. There are a lot of honest public servants in every State. These ones re working it out. Who cares what letter is next to their name if they are honest.

Looks like they finally noticed that gasoline already has a state tax of 42 cents/gal in California, plus city taxes of various levels. Plus the Federal tax of 18.4 cents. Plus a sale taxes of up to 9 percent of the total (yes, the sales tax is enacted on the other taxes too).

Plus, of course, that for half the year California is required to use a different blend from most of the rest o the country. Which (you guessed it) costs more.

This what Jerry Brown and the Democrats wanted to put their 12 cents/gal increase on.

Prop 6 is to eliminate that latest increase of 12 cents.

I filled up last week, for $3.59 per gallon, the lowest price for regular unleaded I could find. What are prices where you live?

South Austin Texas. $2.59 unleaded and $2.69 Diesel. Valero and Exxon stations near me. Shell is 0.05 higher.

IN my state of Mass. the Dems tried to ram through an automatic gas tax on us and one guy a state representative Geoff Diehl led the charge to stop it. He hit the streets with hundreds of volunteers to get thousands of signatures against it and when presented to our dearly elected they demanded another 10,000 signatures. He went back to work, got the signatures and stopped the automatic tax hike.

The Dems told us what CA is telling you that the extra taxes will go towards helping roads. Yeah right. We have heard that before.

Geoff Diehl a Republican is running against Elizabeth Warren for Senate this November and it would be so good for our state and the country to get a guy like this to DC.
