On one hand we have the grandmother. Basically a sycophant for Trump. On the other side we have a grandson. A disrespectful to family, snot nosed, SJW moron indoctrinated by SJW morons at college. A special award is needed for using all the idiotic cliche SJW fake definitions. Each person completely unhinged and representing the base of their respective parties.

I think the main issue is that "fringe sells".
Most people are pretty reasonable but that doesn't generate clicks for the media.
They want to trot out the extreme to make everyone angry.

These aren't the base, they're the fringe.
Politicians spend our donations with the media.
The media then pays the politician back by siding with them and getting them elected.
Everything else the media does throughout that person's political career will be to get that person (or party) to spend more money with the media.
It's a vicious cycle.
Stop lobbies.
Stop corporate donations.
Label "media" corporations for what they are. Corporations (with their own lobbies)
Let's stop buying our politician's wins.

The media is a collection of FOR PROFIT corporations, a point I've been making here for quite a while now.
In the internet age, media quality has fallen sharply as they rush to target what they choose to report, how often, whom to give platform to etc. in order to generate ratings and thus profits.
You can clearly see the targeting when you see which outlets will promote stories like "white woman yells racist slurs at Asian salon owner" or "Illegal immigrant kills family in DUI" to national news.
What hasn't been so evident about media is the extent that much of it has/is joined at the hip undistinguished from the democrat/liberal party.
This is right wing media.
How does it compare to say, Shepard Smith Fox 3 pm anchor ? Not even close. Shep is a full blown loon supported by Fox management.
CNSNews.com is an indispensable online resource for conservatives in the media, public policy and at the grassroots level. A central problem of left-wing media bias is the media’s sin of omission or outright censorship—that is, their failure to report the news that hurts the left-wing agenda. To address this problem, MRC launched CNSNews.com with the mission to report the news the liberal media refuse to cover.

Problem is, this practice is allowed. We need to regulate donations to politicians so we remain a true democracy. Republicans will see their coffer dry up fast without corporate and big money donations, esp this year. Politicians need to represent the average Joes and Janes, NOT whoever gets them into office. Enough with the pay to play.

I used to believe that. But now I don’t know anymore. Regular everyday people parrot outright nutbar nonsense on both sides. It feels like the whole world has lost it.

Good luck with that. We opened the barn door wide back in the 70's to dirty money and it has never closed. Now with Citizen's United and a SCOTUS packed with ultra conservatives that will protect the 1% forever, do you really think it's going to change?
