And Ford is off to her new job at CNN along with dealing to all the new book and movie script contracts when she isn’t making $600 a plate speeches at liberal and feminist gatherings......
I think she wants to disappear.
She did not want all of this attention. However, she got caught in the gears of the political machinery, and it sucked her in.
Only democrat to vote for Brett Kavanaugh was Joe Manchin. My kind of democrat - joining guys like Frank Rizzo - ex Philly mayor, Joe Lieberman, and a few others along the way with the guts to tell the party bosses (Schumer in this case) to stick it.
Bottom line is that you can't vote down a good man and well qualified judge for bad decisions made 36 years ago. Nor can you vote him down without concrete proof - something sorely lacking in this case.
It's not over. Congressional authority to oversee and investigate is a cornerstone of our system. Courts have repeatedly held that respondents under subpoena may not refuse to provide information to Congress based on their concern that sensitive information will be leaked.
Graham wants an investigation to identify who leaked the Ford letter. There were consequences from that leak that impact not only the willingness of witnesses to come forward (his stated concern) but the resulting furor damaged the reputations of both Ford and Kavanaugh not to mention widened the political divide.
I hope he carries through. Let the chips fall where they may.

True, that and, not knowing, I won't say that's not also true of Kavanaugh. The Presidential process has become so fraught with smears that many good candidates simply do not want to put themselves through mill.
I actually have more respect for that democrat than for most of the GOP members in congress. He was willing to support truth and reality over his own career. I would consider voting for him if I lived in WV.
Republican Sen. Steve Daines of Montana was not present at the vote because he was attending his daughter's wedding. Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who broke with her party on Friday and voted against advancing Kavanaugh's nomination, voted "present."
Murkowski wimped out.
Daines handled more important matters.
