No he is a Reagan era republican. Same as Jack Kemp or Bob Dole. None of which would get elected to dog catcher today. They just weren't vile or extreme enough.
And none of them would have gotten Kavanaugh on the USSC either.
They would have folded under the intense media pressure and replaced him.
Where is the line on who the GOP fan-base will turn on to support their dear leader? Its amazing to watch them cannibalize their own Mt. Rushmore. I'd like to see the dead corpse of ol Ronnie rise to criticize Trump. Who would the base side with? The trickle down god or our dear fascist leader? I'm assume they'd blame it on Ronnies Alzheimers.

I’d respect Powell more if he would actually get involved in public life or run for office. As it is, he apparently wants to be remembered as a great man who was too virtuous to be President.

And regarding the press, when they start lying and their mission is to destroy the President that is a HUGE issue. Can’t see why anyone wouldn’t to object to that. Gone are the days of unbiased reporting.
