Nearly 40,000 people in the United States died by guns last year, marking the highest number of gun deaths in decades, according to a new analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's WONDER database.
Major driver is increase in suicide, but if you look at the trended data, you'll see that even adjusted per 100K people, homicide is elevated at highs since at least 1999. Flat 2016-2017, growth from the 2000s..

Here's the data:

The only thing that can stop the increase in gun deaths that correlates with the increased number of guns in the country is to add more guns. That's how correlation works.

What does that mean less access? Logistically how would you achieve that? There are bunches of guns out there. I don't think we really know how many!

Texting while driving deaths are now 100X gun deaths but liberals don’t want to discuss that.

Imagine the Vietnamese took 10 years to kill 58K Americans, and we can kill as many every 17 months.
