"A member of student government at Ohio University has been charged with a misdemeanor after she allegedly made false statements to police about receiving threatening messages....Anna Ayers, who is a member of the OU student senate, was arrested Monday and charged by the Ohio University Police Department with three separate counts of “making false alarms.” It is alleged that Ayers falsely reported multiple threatening messages, including a “death threat,” which she claims was because of her being a member of the LGBTQ community."
Tell me more about that whole "believe the victim/woman even though there is no proof" thing....
Heartbroken mum of teen who killed himself after withdrawn rape allegation found hanged at family home
The family of grief-stricken Karin Cheshire, 55, said she 'could not see a future' without son Jay Cheshire, 17,
who took his own life after being falsely accused of rape
We need a sticky thread where y'all can get your Google alerts and then come here and post the latest false accusation. Meanwhile, more women get raped every day then men get falsely accused. Heck, I bet more men get sexually assaulted than get falsely accused too
One of the positives coming from the #MeToo movement is more focus on false accusations.
Well...since there's that "movement" which, on its face is supposedly pushing for people (women esp.) to not fear reporting sexual assaults, logic would dictate that it would also lead to more false accusations.
And while it would be good if there is to be more focus on false accusations, there needs to be more serious penalties & jail time for those who file such false reports & accusations. Women still get a slap on the wrist if found out to be lying.....here's and idea...if she is found guilty or admits same, she should be punished by the same terms that the defendant would be subject to if found guilty of rape....that'll help end it.
Still watching this case to see when/why charges haven't been filed:

I'd love to see stiff penalties for false accusers. I have a dear friend whose life was destroyed when her son was accused. The accusation alone caused the loss of my friend's son's dream job and he killed himself. I deeply want the accuser to pay and pay and pay. Much as I try to learn the accuser's identity, my friend will not share it with me.
Did I mention that I want the accuser to pay? For a long time. There is no justice.
Yeah, because your OP was full of new insights and in depth analysis.
Never implied it was but at least it was on point....you're whole angle is to try to negate a valid issue by using another issue to subvert it by making it more important. TRUE sexual assault, rapes, etc. are important and need to be seriously addressed and investigated.....but so does false reporting of same which, like sex assaults & rapes, ruin lives.
