What can Trump really do though? He talks big but if he closes off the US/Mexican border crossings, there will be a great outcry from both sides. Don't people cross over with no problem every day for shopping and tourism? Americans living in Mexico probably cross over for medical care or to visit relatives.
It's not like the Canadian border where you need a passport.

Anyone who sets foot illegally, on our soil, from this march, should be deported right back to Honduras, no questions asked. And all aid to Honduras should be ended immediately.

I am afraid there’s a lot of strong talk, but nothing can actually be done about keeping them out....

Don't worry, we can keep them out. A couple of nightsticks the the skulls of the first few criminals who get in would be a good start. Have a plane fueled up and waiting for them at the nearest airport. Put them on the plane. Fly it back to Central America. It will serve as a warning for the next mob that tries it.

But speaking practically how would we even start to deport 7-10,000 people coming all at once?
How would we even catch them? Where would we put them and how do we transport them there?
Once they get across the border they will start running in different directions and all just disappear and we will never catch them.
The caravan has swelled up in size, might reach 10 thousands. If it doesn't the next one will. This will continue as long as they are let in by the powers that be. Illegals are being caught and released with a promise to show up in court at a later date.
Don't tell me this cycle was not engineered by powerful people who live in America. It's really not hard to detain and deport all illegals. Might take a year but doable. Illegal immigration is happening by design, not because of a set of circumstances.
Even if these ones are stopped they will spread out and try to cross a few dozen at a time, until the very last of them gets in. They are not walking back.
The real question is, what are citizens going to do about it ? Trump is not the messiah, he will only slow down the liberal agenda a bit. Americans in the SW should form their own thousands strong caravan and show up at the border with their own guns and dogs if the government won't do it.

We need E-Verify for EVERYTHING. You want any services or utilities...E-Verify. Renting or buying any real property? E-Verify. Driving? E-Verify. Using ANY public service that receives federal funds? E-Verify!
Make it impossible for illegals to live here, and they won't. They will leave.
