So now its not visual blackface...ie, not blackface at all. Its auditory impersonation of a black accent. Shouldn't that be called "Blackvoice"??
NPC heads are spinning. Oh my, the program doesn't tell us what to do in this scenario of being wrong.
Back to default instruction set : IF answer=undefined, THEN output=fetch{RACISM.exe}

sorry, but that's exactly the 'non-problem' Kelly just got crucified over.
Look. If NBC wants to keep her, they will. Just like HBO kept Bill Maher when he made a remark that didn't go over well.
If they want to get rid of her, and are looking for a reason, they now have one.
If they have to pay her the remainder of the contract, they can make her life miserable by assigning her things she doesn't want to do.
If Kelly feels too constrained at the network, she can quit and go work somewhere else, though she may have a difficult time finding something at a network--there are a million cable stations. She made the mistake others have made--thinking the news was all about her.
Dear,
NBC is the loser here.
They are paying Megyn Kelly, $69,000,000 to walk away.
She only had to push one button to get this deal.
With the millions she got from Fox, she can do anything she wants. NBC won't do anything else. They just want it to go away.
Well, just like the hype on the Simpsons, no open cares about mocking the stereotypes of whites, only non-whites. Apu, oh that is bad, every single other person including Homer himself, that is just fine to mock the stereotypes.
Blacks are extra special. More precious than babies. They vote Democrat like no one else does .
True, but free speech, freedom and honesty and good sense is a loser here too.
If you expect that from NBC, then you are going to be very disappointed. Remember this is the network that is still paying that liar Brian Williams millions & millions of dollars.
They got rooked by their own bull**** on this one. And it's cost them $70M. It speaks for itself.

The problem is more a non-black person putting on "black face" and going around as a ordinary black person as a Halloween costume. One implication of that is that black people are so unusual and different from "normal people" that being a ordinary black person is a viable Halloween costume. That is why it is racist.
But the bigger problem is the history of black face make up and the way it was to insult and make fun of Black Americans and Africans in general for many many years..
She was referring to a character, celebrities, who would be recognizable by the public, and NOT an "ordinary black person".
And to make the character played by the actor genuine, why isn't makeup okay? If the APPEARANCE of the actor conflicts with that of the character, in such a way as to make the portrayal unrealistic, unrecognizable, or unbelievable, then what is that actor supposed to do?

They'll be begging her to come back to get some mileage out of their money.
