Last night was a big win for the President with what looks like a pick up of 4 seats in the Senate and a loss of only a few dozen seats in the House, which is significantly less than say the 63 seats the Democrats lost in 2010.

A slight majority for Democrats in the House also has the added silver lining in that it gives Trump a nemisis in Pelosi, Waters and creepy Schiff. He is set up perfectly to win re-election in 2020.

Losing the house is losing the house.

Dems shot themselves in the foot in the Senate. IN, TN, MO, and ND look like they would have gone red anyway but MT looks close enough that stirring up the hornet nest with Kavanaugh might have been all the difference the GOP needed.

The numbers matter and this was a very slight win, not a blue wave.

The SCOTUS is going to become more conservative and that is a big loss for the Dems. Because Bader-Ginsberg does not look like she's going to last much longer and so Trump and the Senate will be confirming another ultra-conservative judge to the court and that will change this country for the next 30 years.

Oh my. I can already tell there will be 2 years worth of threads debating whether Trump or the dems won last night.

What we are "perfectly set up for" is 2 years worth of trash talking from both sides with no way to see who's right until Nov. 2020.

That's just great.

It wasn't the Blue wave but still winning the house is winning the house and no doubt they are already scheming to "IMPEACH 45!", on what grounds ? Who knows but don't worry they will think of something.

In other words the investigations of certain Democrats of wrong doing will cease and the House will now concentrate on getting Trump but luckily the Senate is still in the hands of the Reps so actual impeachment won't happen, hopefully.

It wasn't a Blue wave but certainly a setback for the country.

Looks like another two years of absolutely nothing getting accomplished from our elected officials in Congress.

Yup.

It's too much for the Republicans to ask America to let them keep the House and Senate. It's too much for the Democrats to ask for a reversal of 2016.

Stalemate we stand to hate each other. But we are stuck with each other.

I love it when people think a conservative Supreme Court means they will advance their social agenda (abortion, homosexual rights, etc) when it really means the greater transfer of power from individuals to the wealthy and corporate entities.
