Here is the entire exchange.

Acosta: I wanted to challenge you on one of the statements that you made in the tail end of the campaign in the midterms that …

Trump: Here we go.

Acosta: Well, I — if you don’t mind, Mr. President …

Trump: Let’s go. Let’s go. Come on.

Acosta: … that this caravan was an invasion. As you know, Mr. President …

Trump: I consider it to be an invasion.

Acosta: As you know, Mr. President, the caravan was not an invasion. It’s a group of migrants moving up from Central America towards the border with the U.S. And …

Trump: Thank you for telling me that. I appreciate it.

Acosta: … why did you characterize it as such?

Trump: Because I consider it an invasion. You and I have a difference of opinion.

Acosta: But do you think that you demonized immigrants in this election to try to keep …

Trump: Not at all. No, not at all. I want them to come into the country, but they have to come in legally. You know, they have to come in, Jim, through a process. I want it to be a process. And I want people to come in. And we need the people here …

Acosta: Right. But your campaign had an ad showing migrants climbing over walls and so on …

Trump: Well, that’s true. … They weren’t actors.

Acosta: They’re not going to be doing that.

Trump: They weren’t actors. Well, no, it was true. Do you think they were actors? They weren’t actors. They didn’t come from Hollywood. … This was an actual — you know, it happened a few days ago and …

Acosta: They’re hundreds of miles away, though. They’re hundreds and hundreds of miles away.

Trump: You know what?

Acosta: That’s not an invasion.

Trump: I think you should — honestly — I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN. And if you did it well, your ratings would be much better.

Acosta: But let me ask … if I may ask one other question …

Trump: OK, that’s enough.

Acosta: Mr. President, if I may …

Trump: Peter, go ahead.

Acosta: If I may ask one other question. Are you worried …

Trump: That’s enough. That’s enough.

Acosta: But, Mr. President, I — well …

Trump: That’s enough.

Acosta: I was going to ask one other …

Trump: That’s enough.

Acosta: The other folks have had …

Trump: That’s enough.

Acosta: Pardon me, ma’am. I’m — I’m — Mr. President …

Trump: Excuse me, that’s enough.

Acosta: Mr. President, I had one other question, if I may ask, on — on the Russia investigation. Are you concerned that — that you may have indictments …

Trump: I’m not concerned about anything with the Russia investigation because it’s a hoax.

Acosta: Are you …

Trump: That’s enough. Put down the mic.

Acosta: Mr. President, are you worried about indictments coming down in this investigation?

Trump: I tell you what. CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN. Go ahead.

Acosta: I — I think that’s unfair …

Trump: You’re a very rude person. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is horrible, and the way you treat other people are horrible. You shouldn’t treat people that way.

In typical Trump fashion, he doesn't even allow Acosta to finish his question before firing back at him. He can't answer questions he doesn't allow to be asked. Then he starts his bizarre attack on Acosta and CNN. I watched the entire press conference. Trump kept going back to CNN in snide little comments. He's unhinged.

That's what adults do.

We don't lash out in anger because we are tired of being criticized or asked about something we don't want to talk about.

Acosta was most definitely going after Trump -- asking him an uncomfortable question to see what his response was.

And the leader of our country showed his true colors.

He's as bad aa Acosta.
Regardless, everything can not be made to be Donald Trump's fault. This thread is about Jim Acosta's actions which actually happened right before our eyes, actions which are solely his responsibility. Asking questions like the one in bold is simply an attempt to pass off the blame to someone other than Acosta. There are a mountain of threads on this site alone which give ample space to blame Trump and discuss what he coulda/woulda/shoulda done. However, this thread is about Jim Acosta and his brief loss of control. No one else is responsible for Acosta's actions.

What I saw in this video was a woman reach to take the mic, and Acosta's initial reaction was to push her arm away. After doing so, he says "pardon me mam". So look, you can try to spin it however you want, but I believe, if people are actually willing to be honest here, you can clearly see he quickly and with moderate force pushed this woman's arm down when she went to retrieve the microphone. After doing so, he quickly said "pardon me mam". But in the heat of the moment, Acosta did indeed lash out, however slightly, at this woman who was trying to take his microphone away. It was a brief lapse in judgement in the heat of the moment, but it did happen.

Now personally, I can understand this in a way. I have been engaged in some heated debates before, and the last thing I would have wanted to happen would be to have someone stop me when I'm just getting going. However, this was not a debate between friends after work. This was a White House press briefing. And I'm sorry, but Jim Acosta definitely breached protocol with that little stunt. I have heard so many on this site speak about how during the Kavanaugh hearings, Kavanaugh's defense of himself showed he lacked the proper temperament to be a judge. So, if that is the case, I would say Mr. Acosta has shown today that he currently seems to lack the temperament to be in his position as well by that line of reasoning, so maybe this "timeout" isn't such a bad idea. At some point, the left and the right must accept that if we are going to make grand pronouncements about the behavior of those we do not support, we have to be willing to be just as critical of those people we do support.

Reporters are sent there to ask questions and record the answers. They are not invited to the press conference for a debate. Anyone who oversteps their bounds should be bounced and banned from future events.

The socialist fake news, anti American msm press is not The People. WE who elected him and those citizens who didn't vote for him yet want what is best for America are who he works for.

Even Ben Shapiro called out Sarah Sanders for lying and saying Acosta put his hands on the woman.

Be clear -- this was about censoring who gets to report on the President.

Trump did not like the question

I see that the lefties are already out campaigning against Trump for the 2020 election. Prove that Trump lies. We can all do lists of the lies of former Presidents if it will help you to recall the truth.

I wasnt thinking guts. Trump lacks two somethings a bit lower. The whole incident is two world class bung holes fighting and one has a lot more power.

He was also disrespectful and argumentative. He asked multiple questions that were answered. It was time for him to sit down. Then laughably his buddy jumps up and says what a good guy Jim is. Such a show .

This is far from the first time. There are elements of the press who do nothing but attack attack attack. making (largely prepared) statements to get on cable and evening TV 'news'.

I hope he never returns to WH press conferences. Others can ask the same questions with respect for the president's office and his representatives.

You can like him. We disagree. He got what he deserved.
