News flash ... if a squirrel loses an acorn, that ain’t Trumps fault either.
If a squirrel picks up an acorn the left won't let it drop. Its like they picked up a seat in the house and now things will be wonderful b/c squirrels have gained power in government.

When you refuse to see the humanity in other people, you lose part of your own. It's getting so bad, that now the left and right are starting to lose sight of the humanity of those on the other side of the aisle, let alone the other side of the fence.

You could probably trace the ultra-conservative movement back to Reagan's "Republican Revolution" in 1980 (although the current crop of ultra conservatives makes Reagan look moderate in comparison), and definitely to Newt Gingrich, Jerry Falwell, and Rush Limbaugh in the 90s.

It's all there: the ultra-conservatives' callous attitudes toward poor people, brown people, foreign people, different people. Disregard for natural environment, safe drinking water, etc. Insistence on imposing "values" on everyone. Focus on the top tier of earners and on corporate profits.

So, yeah, you're absolutely right. It did start before Trump. He's just shouting louder and louder about it than his predecessors.

You're probably right. I doubt there's really much "screaming" that goes on in the OP's workplace. I wonder if it isn't just run-of-the-mill water-cooler talk that has the OP's knickers in a twist.

And the ultra conservative gang is doing the same. The issue is with both ends of the spectrum.

Exactly.

Although I wouldn't include "the press" as one entity. Online and TV journalism certainly are more shrill than in years past, but there's more to "the press" than CNN and Breitbart.

What ebb and flow. All of the lefties' so-called "discussion" can be distilled to one point: "Orange man bad."

You made the right's point. Every lefty comment can be distilled to a single point: "Orange man bad." There is simply a lack of ability among the left to think in terms any more complicated or nuanced than that. Their lack of critical thinking skills is quite jaw-dropping, but sadly, not all that unexpected given the dismal state of US K-12 and even post-secondary education.

Need proof? Here you go...

Quote:
"This exam [OECD's PIAAC], given in 23 countries, assessed the thinking abilities and workplace skills of adults. It focused on literacy, math and technological problem-solving. The goal was to figure out how prepared people are to work in a complex, modern society. And U.S. millennials performed horribly...

But surely America’s brightest were on top?

Nope.

U.S. millennials with master’s degrees and doctorates did better than their peers in only three countries, Ireland, Poland and Spain...The ETS study noted that a decade ago the skill level of American adults was judged mediocre. “Now it is below even that.” So Millennials are falling even further behind.

Top-scoring US millennials – the 90th percentile on the PIAAC test – were at the bottom internationally, ranking higher only than their peers in Spain.
The bottom scorers (10th percentile) also lagged behind their peers."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.caf173a2db29

I'm guessing the US's Gen Z will fall even below the millennials, continuing the decline.

Actually, he is. He is putting himself and his pro-white agenda above the constitution. Non citizens have a right to apply, as upheld by the courts, and referenced in the constitution: https://www.forbes.com/sites/danielf.../#750734374f1d

Just because you call yourself a Conservative does not make it so.

He has even threatened to "close the border permenantly".
That’s simply not true ... and, No you don’t. You don’t agree at all, because if you did, you would naturally understand that the process for LEGAL entry into the United States remains in place, and has been there all along. Trump has done nothing to alter or prohibit the legal process for entering the United States. What Trump has done is nothing more than to order our Law Enforcement folks to do their god damned jobs .... to actually enforce the laws we have governing immigration, and protect YOU .... something that Obama refused to do, which only encouraged more to come.

It is not "radical" to want to keep the fundamental principles that this country was founded on intact. In fact, it is by definition "conservative" to want this.
What “fundamental principles” are you talking about here? Our “fundamental principles” can be found in the Constitution of the United States of America. Outlined therein specifically grants the Federal Government certain limited powers to perform its responsibilities... chiefly among them is the duty and obligation for ensuring National Security, of which I cannot find a single greater example than the protection of our borders from those who would otherwise break our laws by entering our country illegally, without permission.

What rational people would like to see happen is for you irrational and very confused folks on the left to recognize, and place proper priority on the rights of your fellow citizens and countrymen, and our rights to be free of home invasion by people who do not have any right whatsoever to simply enter our homes without permission.

You first need to understand that the United States is OUR COLLECTIVE HOME .... and belongs to us, the American citizens. Not Mexicans, not Guatemalans, not Hondurans .... then, you might begin to have a more rational and just opinion.

“Think” for one second .... I know some of you find “thinking” to be a burdensome chore you’d rather someone else do for you, but is nonetheless your responsibility as a citizen of this nation. .... so let’s give you something to “think” about ....

Let’s say that while you are away from home, at work today, a dozen strangers break down your door, enter your home, with the intent to take up permanent residence there. They expect you to allow them to stay ... eat your food ... use your home ... and you DONT GET TO SAY NO .... but you do get to pay all the bills. Of course, you come home, see this gang of strangers have broken down your door and are inside your house. Are you going to say, WELL, HELLO THERE STRANGERS, WELCOME!!! Or, are you going to call the police and say HELP !!! I have these strangers in my home, and they won’t leave!!! And what if the Police tell you ... shame on you ... those poor people have just as much right to a comfortable home as you do ... so you just shut up, and take good care of them ... they have rights too!

You see ... this is the INSANE, IRRATIONAL, AND UNJUSTIFIABLE RESPONSE you are promoting! You want to tell the rest of us that it’s our obligation to welcome strangers breaking into our home .... just so long as it’s NOT YOUR HOME. But, in truth, it IS YOUR HOME TOO .... and it amazes me that someone needs to tell you that, because you were born with enough common sense to realize that on your own.

Quote:
Trump is creating the problem by leaving no other options. I am confident it is his plan. If he really wanted to solve the problem, he'd suggest a solution that allowed people to get to the border, BE CONTAINED, and then apply for entry legally in a timely manner and either be granted entry, or sent back. Instead, he has proposed "shoot first, and never ask questions".
Trump is not the creator of this problem ... the problem has been going on for 50 years. The United States has had one of the most liberal immigration policies of any nation, with regard to welcoming legal immigration. Why don’t you people check out the criteria imposed by MEXICO, when it comes to who Mexico allows into their country, and what they do to those entering Mexico illegally!

As for the latest assault on our country ... this leftist created “Caravan” is an act of treason. These several thousand “caravaners” have been organized and funded by leftist radicals whose goal is to eliminate US borders, and thereby destroy the sovereignty of our nation. If you think for one skinny second that these several thousand people simply gathered together on their own, and walked on foot a thousand plus miles to seek asylum.... you’re as dumb as a box of donuts. Freaking trained military personnel can’t march a thousand miles without well organized and sophisticated supply chains and support personnel aiding the voyage ... let alone women toting children.

I swear ... one of our founding fathers said “those who wish to remain ignorant and free, want what never was, and never will be”

Get a grip on reality.
