I'll admit I don't appreciate seeing pets (usually dogs) on planes, grocery stores, home improvement stores, restaurants (unless dining al fresco), etc. People are allergic, people are afraid of dogs (especially kids). Leave your pet at home or drive.
This may run afoul of the air carrier access act regarding ESAs.
I know. Not everyone can afford their own plane, fuel and maintenance.
Until then, a private company has their own rules and like a ship, the captain is the authoritarian ruler of the ship.
Walmart starting cracking down a few weeks ago. If asked, you must provide proof of a trained service animal. No pets. And no animals can ride in the cart. Now if they would just make brats be on a leash.
I never understood this in the first place. What about people with allergies? I can’t even send my kid to school with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because some kid is allergic to peanuts, and they let dogs and cats on planes with hundreds of people enclosed in a small space? There surely has to be several people on those flights that are allergic to cats or dogs because it’s a pretty common allergy.
If people can’t go somewhere without a support animal, then they should drive.
I asked that question in one of these forums once and was jumped on by dog lovers who told me people with allergies should stay home. Nah, people who are socially retarded and must rely on Fluffy should stay home.
This change doesn't do much for me. I'd prefer only service dogs be allowed on planes regardless of how long the flight is.

My emotional support animal is a tarantula. Can I still bring it on a plane with me? It hardly ever bites.
I'd much rather. You're right, they hardly ever bite.
