I think it might be the Russian money thing.

It's one thing to be all up in arms about 2nd Amendment and "pry it from my cold, dead hands."

Quite another to brag about belonging to an organization of traitors.

You wanting their demise would be akin to a person who strongly believes in the 1st Amendment, yet hopes the ACLU goes out of business.

They don't protect anything except their bank accounts and the pols they have in their pockets.

Courts and laws protect your rights. There are plenty of citizens willing to bring cases if and when their rights are abridged.

Maybe 10% of their efforts are in the direction you speak of...the other 90% are not. If the ACLU spent 90% of their time working against American principles I wouldn't donate to them either.

Efficiency matters. Somehow they were able to do their work for 1/10th or 1/20th of the current budget...and do it just as well.

Nothing against the NRA on a personal basis...I've seen the same exact thing happen to many orgs, even a Boys and Girls Club I volunteers at. I stopped....when I realized that the staff having new 2K laptops was more important to management than actually helping one person.
