She died of sepsis which may have progressed to septic shock.

Insisting she should have been given water is like insisting someone with stage 4 cancer whose organs shut down before dying should have been given an aspirin.

Willful ignorance to fit a narrative.

Curious, why would water shock your system? I've never heard that before and when I looked it up, could find no information on it.
YOU are not a trained medical professional. And our border patrol are not trained medical professionals. And there are no mobile EMT units patrolling the desert ready to offer medical assistance to migrants who shouldn't be there anyway.

You need a reality check. And don't let me stop you from training to be an EMT and then you patrolling our borders ready to offer water and electrolytes to these illegal migrants... all the while doing it for free.

Many die every year in the desert.

This is hardly "breaking news".

If one takes the risk, one must accept the consequences.

That was an uncalled for slam on the border patrol. I do not think it is within their purview to do advanced medical procedures.

Re: oral rehydration fluids, you need to also know when to use them. Again, I question if this is the BP's job.

Sounds good, send the money directly to the Mexican cartel tunnel fund.

She keeps moving the goal post. If we were to learn that Border Patrol gave this child water and drinks with electrolytes, she would come back saying they should have a doctor on call for such incidents. And if we found out there was a doctor, she would say there should be a clinic with medical equipment. And if we found out there was such a facility, she would say a level 1 trauma hospital should be built on the border.

It's beyond ridiculous.

You should have another one for bad grammar.
It's far fewer posts not less.
And than rather than as.

This will be their next demand. At the same time they're calling for the abolition of ICE so we have no interior enforcement, they want Border Patrol to be neonatal nurses, pediatricians, obstetricians, critical care specialists, and psychotherapists. All while waiting for their cadre of lawyers.

As one person pointed out early on in this thread, one need not speak the same language to communicate about basic things such as food and water.

However, in trying to track down things, I ran across an article that stated most men in his village know Spanish as well as their native Mayan Q'eqchi' language.
I applaud you for looking into it. Of course most men and I’m sure women speak Spanish since it’s the language of the dominant culture. Just as you will see Native Americans and aborigines in Australia speaking English.

For the coyote business to pay, you need a steady stream of customers, & you have to be reachable, either in person or by phone. Either one would be very dangerous for a drug runner - your voice or face splashed over databases is not what you want. Without a cite to support the idea, I think it doesn't make any sense.
Wrong. Estimates are that it is a half-billion dollar per year “industry,” while some say that’s a conservative figure and could be much higher. We know damn well they’re making a lot of money out of this situation.
