Sen. Kevin Parker (D-Brooklyn) instructed New York State Republican Deputy Communications Director Candice Giove to "Kill yourself!" after she allegedly exposed Parker appearing to misuse a parking placard.
...
Parker's horrifying remark comes after he "attracted attention late last month when he proposed a bill that would require those seeking a firearm permit to consent to having their social-media accounts searched for objectionable content," the Democrat & Chronicle reported. "The bill would require gun-seekers to turn over their passwords to key accounts to police, if necessary. If approved, up to three years of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter posts and one year of search-engine history would be open to scrutiny."
...
The Democrat & Chronicle noted that Parker is a convicted criminal as he was "convicted of misdemeanor criminal mischief after damaging a camera belonging to a New York Post photographer who was assigned to take photos of him outside his Brooklyn home" in 2010.
Unhinged and hypocritical... over a parking placard.
Senator Kevin S. Parker, a Brooklyn Democrat with a colorful reputation, casually tweeted at a Republican spokeswoman on Tuesday and told her to commit suicide.
He then deleted the Twitter post and apologized — only to come back at the spokeswoman less than an hour later, drawing calls for disciplinary action.
will any of this fellow dims reprimand him? or even manage a quiet 'tut-tut'?
That's disgusting behavior. In a perfect world, he'd be disciplined, but in today's world, anything goes on Twitter, so I doubt anything will happen.
People should be allowed to vent on social media. If his constituents get wind of it and don't like it, vote him out next year. Disciplining him sets a dangerous precedent when it comes to speech rights.
