Given the size of the population in California, it has more good, bad and ugly of everything.

Those liberal scum flee liberal states like CA, MA, NY, NJ and move to purple states like NV, Fl, or red states like TX, AZ, UT, because taxes are low and housing is dirt cheap. But then they vote for the same party that created policies which caused them to flee in the first place.

Other states on this list include:
Texas
New York
New Mexico
Kentucky
Nevada
Arizona
Mississippi
Rhode Island
Louisiana

Looks like a hodgepodge of states with a relatively high number of people who never finished the 9th grade. Both liberal and conservative states. So many people have an explanation of California. Explain Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Not that many illegals in those states. Very few foreign-born residents in KY or MS.

That is part of it. Texas has alot of good and bad too. Both are home to alot of high school dropouts. Both are home to alot of computer and aerospace engineers.

I've read the story for which the link provides. Yes, California ranks high in under-educated residents. I also think this is being used as a partisan rant to a certain extent. I also looked at which states have the lowest percentage of residents 25 and older with high school diplomas. While California ranks #1, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana and New Mexico are not far behind. Again, Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana, all Republican states, have among the lowest rates of residents 25 and older with high school diplomas. New Mexico has alot of Democrats. Alabama has alot of Republicans. Both states rank low in terms of education. Mississippi and Louisiana are even worse.

I'm guessing that because Texas doesn't fit into what you want to criticize about California, you try to dismiss it.

The Democrats have always ruled the vote with those who have less than a high school education. This is why, along with expanding the minority vote in this country, they have to also make sure they expand the pool of uneducated people to keep their voter rolls growing. With illegals, they kill two birds with one stone.

There are also those who come to America with less than a 9th grade education, legal and illegal, and never bother to get a better education. However, there are other states with low numbers of illegals with high dropout rates: Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi among them.

Explain Massachusetts, Minnesota, Colorado, states with high percentages of its residents with college degrees and those states are voting Democrat in large numbers. And then explain Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Alabama, which are Republican states with relatively high percentages of high school dropouts.
