What are we waiting for? Trump has been told about it and his own Secretary of Agriculture shot it down.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-tr...081508770.html

"About $50-100 billion worth currently held by USDA are very marketable and attractive commercial paper investments. The rights to collect the remainder of the debt on these loans could be sold to private parties who would pay a premium for such a steady stream of cash payments. The sales would give a profit cushion to the government and alleviate taxpayers from any future risk of nonpayment while retaining certain borrower guarantees.

For example, Trump could authorize the sale of $10 billion of USDA rural water loans on the secondary market, which could bring in a lump sum payment of $12 billion or more. Revenue from these proceeds could be directed to build the border wall."

Congress has to approve the allocation of funds and their disbursement. Nothing new always been true .There are authorizations to allow some agencies to move money between accounts but nothing that would allow billion dollar movements.

The maniacal obsession with a ridiculous antiquated method of border security continues ad nauseam. How many wall threads are there now?

Remember when Sarah Sanders said trump had a plan to build the wall without congressional approval just a few days before shutting down the government because he wants border wall funding?

I remember thinking it was a farcical lie designed to appease a narcissistic Frankenstein. Nothing has changed since that announcement, in my view.

I think Trump believes the Democrats will look like donkeys for shutting down the government over something they had previously approved, and even sponsored.
I think he's right. And I expect his approval ratings to rise above the Rasmussen measured 49% among likely voters.
Meanwhile the privately funded border wall effort has collected nearly $17 million.

Sorry but everyone knows that Trump owns this shutdown. He claimed it, made a big deal about owning it and even promised not to blame Dems. This shutdown is his and his alone.

17 million and only $9,983,000,000 to go. Looks like it should get there in about 20 years. Good luck with that. Donations are slowing down.

Dems led by Pelosi look like dummies, again. When Pelosi said repeatedly to Trump that he didn't have the votes in Congress he was like ***** hold my beer and got it right through. The Senate will likely give him at least 50 votes on the Republican side. Dems look like the lying obstructionists we all know them to be. Mitch needs to go NUCLEAR and shut these bastards down once and for all.

I am one among millions who don't want my tax dollars going towards a wall which will make no difference. Trump is the one who is lying. You do remember he campaigned on Mexico paying for it. And now he shuts down government because democrats and many republicans are looking out for us and don't want to fund it. Trump just screwed himself because he won't win. We need a president who leads, not a president who listens to conservative talking heads guiding him. This is just insane.

For the idiots who don’t think walls work, please let these other countries know they are wasting money.
