Correct--It was never about the money. Dems see this as compromise..somrthing they will never do, because democrats would happily see 1 million Kate Steinle's be murdered than to go along with the President.
I'm not seeing confirmation on that article, so I'm not sure it is accurate.

I hope there is some talking going on. Not just political rhetoric!!!!!
Negotiating with Trump is a waste of time. He never negotiates in good faith and has no credibility whatsoever. When the Dems take over the House they'll need to team up with moderate (rational) Republicans and pass legislation by veto-proof majorities. Then Trump can stay in his room and watch TV and play with his Twitter account.
The ONLY thing that Trump can do to lose his base, to make his base disband, is to compromise in any way. Any kind of giving concessions, backing down, and they will evaporate PDQ.
As others have said, he could have a headless body in his trunk, and they won't care. But if he compromises with the left, poof, they're gone find another jerk who won't compromise to fawn after. Like Alex Jones.
If everyone who voted for Donald Trump (sixty million people) donated $100 to the gofundme, it would generate six billion dollars, MORE than what Trump is asking for. The wall would be fully funded.
Mind. Blown.
Come on, Trump voters! Show me the money!
