Even if you dislike Trump it should be acknowledged that this type of journalism ends up misinforming the public.

Quote:
Given its mostly liberal audience, there was an implicit financial reward for the Times in running lots of Trump stories, almost all of them negative: they drove big traffic numbers and, despite the blip of cancellations after the election, inflated subscription orders to levels no one anticipated," Abramson wrote.

How do you write an unbias story about a guy that lies every day all day? How about a guy that is under multiple criminal investigations? You can't. Clearly, they were opinion pieces.

Abramson was fired. Of course, she goes against them.

Just about every news organization does this. You think Fox or Breitbart doesn't know their audience and what kind of stories to run to generate clicks and viewership? Breitbart certainly knows it's not winning over the hearts of liberals just as much as CNN knows it's not winning over any trump supporters.

There are very few non-partisan news organizations left in this country. Mostly because they're getting clobbered by the ones that are. Non-partisan is boring, not very profitable and it's on us, the audience to try and ascertain as many angles as we can on a story and try and come to the truth, which is usually somewhere in the middle.

Unfortunately most people don't want the truth (even though they claim they do). They want to be told they are right. That their views are correct. Otherwise non-partisan news would be hugely successful.

Once the news became a profit center this was inevitable.

And yet no one has a problem when Fox News, Breitbart, Town Hall, Infowars, etc. serve up anti-Dem/liberal screeds? You're all a bunch or hypocrites with zero interest in "objective news," same as your master in the White House.

Remember when Fox spent countless hours covering the conspiracy of the non-conspiracy of BENGHAZI?

The New York Times hired an open racist (Sarah Jeong), so nothing they do surprises me.

I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that the New York Times is anti-Trump.

In other news, dog bites man.

Speaking of the misinformed public, nobody does it better than FOX according to 2 university studies. My dog is better informed than their viewers.

Magoo, my 91 year old mother with dementia doesn’t repeat herself as much as you do with this worn-out line about a 7 year old article.
