It seems that many seekers are duped into believing that they have valid claims for asylum status. Why not just change the rules to make it even more difficult for them to win? The strategy of keeping them within Mexico’s borders is an idea that govt should have implemented long ago. Govt could hire more immigration judges to move the cases quickly. They could even ship them over to Guantanamo or the Canal Zone to accommodate the overflow so that they don’t so easily escape into the United States.

I'd like to see the process changed so that asylum seekers would have to apply at the US embassy or consulate in their home country and then wait to have their application approved before making the trek to America.

If they're not approved, they stay put.

If they show up w/o approval, they're sent back.

The Democrats hate the idea of a wall but at the same time refuse to put teeth in laws against hiring illegals. This is all you need to know of their corruption.

They should just stop accepting asylum seekers altogether. There are plenty of other countries they can run to. We've already got millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States.

The Republicans like the idea of the wall, but they're also fond of the cheap labor. This is all you need to know about their corruption.

Except they are trying to get the money to build the wall. So there’s that.

Huh uh, ain't going there PMF. If you are so concerned about corruption, when it comes to people who hire illegals, then clean up your own party and your own President.

Trump has decades long histories of hiring and stiffing illegals because he has them by the short hairs. He has always employed illegals, EVEN TODAY, and he has no defense for it, other than to say "My contractors did it, not me".

So, before you get all uppity about hiring illegals, you need to check your facts.

That would be a conflict on interest, wouldn't it? If you think it's only Republican business owners that hire illegal aliens the you aren't dealing in reality. I guess it's ok for the Democrats to flood our border with illegal aliens so that they can retain the ethnocentric Hispanic vote and gain more future voters at the expense of the American tax payer/worker?

You're not dealing in reality if you think it's only the Democrats wanting the illegals for their votes. It's business, big and small, Republican donors, maybe Democratic donors, too, who also want the illegals here.
