This is starting to get absurd. Eight hundred thousand employees are either furloughed or working without pay. Working without pay is worse than being fired.

We are looking for the politicians to solve this when we have a President who acts like a callous child. TSA and the air traffic controllers are in unions. It's time for the unions to organize one day sick outs which would close down airports and force passengers to alternate destinations.

Europeans are willing to close down their entire country in one day national strikes. It's time for the unions to grow a pair. Close down individual airports one day at a time.

Pelosi will be heading down to the WH with her shoe shine kit before the end of the week. In the meantime, good idea, Dems should encourage those workers to quit and lose their jobs...good strategy

Give us all a great excuse for PATCO II.

How did that work out for them?

Or OP, how did the Hostess Twinkanistas (18,500 axed) fare when they walked out?

LOL. Their countries are, except for Germany, populated like single US states. Not impressive.

I agree but people think a billionaire cares about them and he doesn't he is just too stupid. I hope trump keeps it up he is bringing down the republican party all by himself.

The shutdown would end a lot sooner if they would stop magically determining some functions are required for national security or life and safety such as tax returns.

Miami closed one terminal because of TSA numbers

This is not going to change until the people Trump is afraid of--Colter, Limbaugh, Hannity--change their POV
His numbers even in conservative polls are down 10 pts or so--so even HIS voters are not happy...

Businesses need to be pulling ads from Fox
Business leaders need to be letting McConnell know that funding for GOP is going away if this doesn't end soon...

The shutdown caused by Osama bin Ladin was immediate. Trump has envy.

Eventually the shutdown WILL effect essential services, it will take awhile, and in some cases, will be indirect, but it will happen at some point.
