I've talked to many conservatives throughout my life on citydata and out in the real world. The policies they propose would hurt the majority of people which is why I oppose them. I don't care how nice they are personally if they think poor people should just starve to death just so there taxes don't go up they are lost. American conservatives are morally bankrupt.

Are you saying so that you support programs like EBT? If so you are morally superior to most conservatives.

When I think of American conservatives, I think of extremely religious Christians who want to ban abortion and euthanasia etc. they think they are freedom loving people, but are really authoritarians at heart. A person who truly believes in individual rights and individual freedom would allow an individual to choose for themselves if they want euthanasia because a person should have a right to do want they want with their own lives and be in complete control of their own lives. The fundamentalist christian wants to take choice away from the individual. I think American conservatives pay lip service to smaller government, and are okay with endless wars for the most part. I think both democrat and republican parties stink in their own way.

Where's the logic? Not in the White House, for sure, and it hasn't been in the conservative controlled Congress for about 10 years.

All logic flew out the conservative window when Sarah Palin was nominated in 2008, and it hasn't flown back in the window since then.

If you don't support open borders, abolishing ICE, demonizing the police, wanting to raise taxes on the middle/working classes, killing newborn babies, sex change operations for 5 y/o's & endless foreign wars, then you're a hateful monster, who's stuck in the past.

I'm not religious and I'm a conservative. Most of my beliefs were considered liberal 5 years ago. Lower taxes for the middle/working classes. Secure borders. Renegotiating bad trade deals so we can bring our blue collar jobs back home to help the middle class. Bringing our troops home from these elective wars. Legalizing marijuana. Experiencing diverse opinions & being challenged on yours, while in college. Prison reform. Stopping the bad guys from owning guns. Freedom of speech. The right to privacy. America first. The Democrats did an ideological 180' on all these things because Trump wants to do them.

I'm all for what you just wrote, it's great their are open minded people like you. My main problem with democrats is that they support unlimited illegal immigration into the US. I just don't like the religious extremist in the Republican Party at all.

Hostages of Trumpism. This is fairly recent and we trust that it will correct itself in a bit. Conservatives are a resilient group. There are some who are lost forever -- the "dismissables" -- but even the Reagan fanatics (mostly) were able to find a way to survive after his tumble into the dustbin of history.
