Great article , for those that don’t know the L.A Times is a liberal publication and the writer is liberal . It just seems that recently they’ve actually started writing articles critical of local politicians but there was a recent change in ownership . There is also a literal rat infestation and now a typhus outbreak as well .

He details just some of the many examples of corruption going on in Los Angeles . This is what happens when people don’t pay attention to what is going on and don’t hold local politicians accountable . They had countless pointless impeach Trump and not my president protests and rallies in this city when the protests should of been at city hall against the politicians that sold out the people of this city .

——
“At City Hall, where public policy and a pay-to-play culture are cozy cousins, probes into possible corruption reach into several offices. And they center on an age-old problem in L.A. — those doing business at City Hall, including developers, make sizable donations to the public officials who vote on their building proposals.”

“And last week, on the same day that my colleague David Zahniser reported on a $50,000 developer donation to a campaign committee just weeks before the FBI raided the home and office of Councilman Huizar, Dakota Smith reported that it’s not just federal agents who are running around City Hall: There’s a rat infestation, with the critters chewing carpets and nesting in potted plants. I don’t know if the FBI has thought of it, but rat-cams could be useful “

“That brings us to perhaps the best disinfectant of all, which is for residents to pay closer attention, read the paper, hold public officials accountable and storm the polls at election time.
With all due respect to Cicero, given the current state of things, a more apt engraving on the face of City Hall would be:
“Welcome one and all, step right up, and pay to play.””

Did you read the article? I’m sure this is just a tiny amount of the corruption . Not saying corruption doesn’t go on in other cities but this is just flagrant corruption .

Many (if not MOST) voters are fools. Promise them largess from the public treasury, and they will put you in office no matter what kind of sleaze-ball you are.
WE are responsible for our government, at all levels. WE need to wake up and quit voting for people because they have "seniority". Kick the incumbents to the curb at every election. WE can make our own "Term Limits"!
I do not care what party you tend to vote for, DO NOT vote for a third term incumbent. If they haven't done what they said they would in two terms, they never will; make them go home and get a real job.
ENOUGH!! We need to take our government back from the rich politicians and lawyers!
Elect doctors, nurses, mechanics, and garbage truck drivers. People who know what REAL LIFE is all about.

“Called Jose Huizar’s DTLA: A New Crime Bus Tour, the tour won’t be launched until after the investigation wraps up, but Esotouric co-founders Kim Cooper and Richard Schave say they’ve already plotted out a route. “These locations are intrinsically connected to Huizar’s career as a policy maker in downtown and East Los Angeles,” says Schave. “My wife and I for almost 10 years have taken issue with the majority of his policy decisions regarding preservation, and its role in public policy.”
