The research, carried out by green campaigners CoalSwarm, suggests that 259 gigawatts of new capacity are under development in China.

The authors say this is the same capacity to produce electricity as the entire US coal fleet.

The study says government attempts to cancel many plants have failed.

Much of the pollution comes from abroad. The Democrats have no influence on all the two stroke engines that pollute major metropolis' thruout the world.

the real science and statics of climate change prove that it is a natural cycle that has to play out.

So, what you're saying is that there's no solution to the planet warming, until of course our orbit pulls us a little further away from the sun during the next 20,000 years?

So you're admitting it's cyclical in nature then?

What if we had 1,000,000,000,000,000 to spend and you spent it on ridding the Earth of machines. Zero emissions. Do you think the Earth at that point continues to get warmer as it wobbles closer to the sun, or do you think we speed up the impending ice age by about 19,000 years?

So, to the op's question. I'm going to write you a check for 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollars. Can you with that amount of money cool the Earth or not? Please use science to explain...

This is the "what would you do with 300 million if you won the lottery" question, with that kind of money nothing is off the table. The first thing you'd do is address the immediate concerns. Write a blank check for development of geothermal and fusion development. Once you have established technology that can reliably replace fossil fuels move onto addressing the higher CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere.

This of course is what will probably be doing anyway except it will not be accelerated pace.

You don't have to worry about the planet warming - you have to worry about it cooling.

Technology will address global warming. Politics will lag behind. That's the way it always works. It'll be renewable energy and "air scrubbers" that can remove carbon dioxide from the air.

Pubs keep resisting because they're owned by the fossil fuel giants that feed the warming very profitably.

It's no more complex than that.

And those who deny global warming have swallowed the lies they've been fed by both the GOP and the corporatists.

But that's easier than thinking or even paying attention.

Too late.

Can't be 'fixed' to what it was.

Much damage has been done already with more to come.

The best we can hope for is to slow down the rate of further damage (so we can keep up with the changes) or to level off at some higher point.

This isn't a Trump-like "give us yer money and we'll sell you a bridge" type of thing. There are no deals. We all have to pull hard. Nobody is selling anyone anything.

We either all work hard at this and suffer some, or do nothing and suffer a lot. That's how it is.

We don’t need conspiracy theories and government paranoia, we need solutions.
So how much will you spend?

They will only increase it with globalization.
