Out of Wedlock simply means not married, it has nothing to do with if your parents are in a relationship or live together.

The basic situation with blacks in the USA is that they FINALLY started getting ahead in the 1990's and built up a small net worth (on average). A similar story concerned Hispanics.
THEN, the GWB Great Recession took the net worth of both types of households down to ZERO and it has hardly gone anywhere since. Recessions are great at stripping the wealth from those most in need. Even other groups were hurt badly, but if your net worth is 100K and you lose 20K, you still have 80K (lower middle class, perhaps). If your net worth is 10K, which it was for many blacks and hispanics, and you lose 20K...AND, a Great Recession does away with employment possibilities AND a Republican controlled government (and states) won't increase the min. wage enough, etc.
It's almost as if the OP is noticing the effect of unregulated capitalism. It will fool you and tell you to work hard to build up equity...and then it will strip it from you. Wall Street is perfect at that game.

My boss at my second job has been with the same woman over 10 years. They live together and have a 6 year old daughter together. Not married. Engaged and she wears his ring, but not married. Both work.
Neither the Left nor the Right could ever provide a collective solution for what is an inherently individual problem. Net worth is an individual measure subject to a few gazillion individual traits, behaviors, decisions, consequences/benefits, etc.
If asking either Left or Right to create, sustain and grow net worth, neither side can do anything but fail. The simple reason is because anyone predisposed to having the government "solve" their problems for them is individually incapable of the behaviors necessary to create net worth on their own. Thus, no matter what government dos, the apathetic individual will find a way to spend more or as much as they have, thus maintaining a hand to mouth, paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle.
People who create net worth almost always do so in spite of government, not because of it.

Agreed, would have to form work gangs and instead of illegal aliens picking fruit have prison gangs do it. One way or another they have to break this cycle of irresponsible parenting or we are doomed.
In fact, most whites will also have wealth approaching zero in 30 years, because most whites aren't intelligent enough to thrive in an automated economy
If that alarming study doesn’t make you want to give up on the left, I don’t know what does. People of color are clearly hitching their hope and supprt on a sinking ship.
The only real solution now is for people of color to start depending on themselves for social progress and upward mobility. Real change must come from within. No politician or government program is going to save us, just look at the horrible job they’ve done so far.

If you want to raise an intelligent child, don't stop his education in the summers and don't leave the job up to the schools and teachers without your participation and involvement.
It doesn't matter if a parent is a single or not. To keep up in this century, a child will have to be able to read and write well, be able to do basic math well, and must be able to memorize well. They also have to be physically as fit as possible, with good eating habits that will sustain them through life.
That means parents must read to their kids, keep books in front of them, give them practical math problems to calculate in their heads during common activities, and give them ways to expand their intellectual powers, such as learning how to play an instrument, drawing tools, some basic construction tools, and some training on how to use all of them. And once provided, ensure they have free empty time to put them to use.
It doesn't matter what a person's race is at all. What counts right now, and will continue to count the most, is a child's brain power. Humans who are physically fit are healthier, and good health promotes a good brain.
Thinking requires discipline, and discipline comes through patient education and practice. Exposure to new ideas, new experiences, and new people is also very important.
A parent doesn't have to know everything, but must know enough to start a child going on intellectual quests. A parent also has to lead by example, and make efforts to learn new things on their own.
Kids watch their parents closely and they all learn through imitation. It's no good to just give them the tools and nothing else. They have to see a parent is interest in their development and seeks more knowledge on their own.
People could make a living through the 20th century as living machines doing simple repetitive tasks, but those days are gone forever. When a child learns how to conceptualize young, the child has a huge advantage over a machine for life.
The days of living as human machines are gone. If a parent has lost his job to a machine, teaching his child how to avoid this loss will benefit them both, but the parent always has to lead the way and show the path.
