Did it ever occur to you that were it not for Trump-MAGA crowd's hateful broadbrush tone toward undocumented immigrants, "The Wall" would merely be a political controversy and not a cultural one. Undertext, GBU. Undertext. Everything about the Trump-MAGA crowds spirit and airs betrays an atmosphere of contempt - effectively saying "Even those who do not commit violent crimes are every bit as worthy of disrespect as violent criminals". No other interpretation of their demeanor is reasonable. And even that is me giving the "Wall crowd" a sympathetic hearing.
This is beside the fact that it doesn't work. People will still tunnel under it. Hell, they'll probably try to build makeshift submarines to get into this country. Or black-clothed hot air balloons with shields around the flame. When there's that many people trying to get in, you can bet your bottom dollar people will try other ways to get in. Or perhaps come here on a visitor's visa and simply overstay their visa.

They said the same thing about Italians, Poles, Hungarians, Greeks, and Russian Jews 100 to 130 years ago -- all back then were what we today call "Third World countries". So not only did the USA not collapse, it actually became a Superpower, one assured to be talked about 2500 years from now (assuming we're still alive then). So relax about it.
