Oh, absolutely - and they are now given free license to ramp up the hateful and divisive rhetoric by Donald Trump, the master of false innuendo, lies, and baseless aspersions - catering to and validating their basest fears.

Some throw rocks at the cameras of those trying to film them, while one screams at a photographer and calls him a pig.
Another grabs the uncovered hair of a female reporter, saying: “Have you not read the Koran, are you not ashamed?”
A third woman snarks at the way the reporter is dressed: “God curses women who resemble men”…

I'd say both sides do it, but it's far more on the left (and I say that as someone who is moderately left).

Just look at Hillary's kick-off video for her 2016 campaign. It's one long paean to identity politics. Just look at President Obama's dust-up with Bill Clinton and James Clymer (D, SC) in the SC 2008 primary. Bill Clinton received veiled accusations of being a racist. Clinton, who prided himself for his support in the black community, was so angry over it that he got red in the face.

Hillary later said that she would have loved to get a look at internal Obama campaign memos, because she believed that playing on race (i.e. identity politics) was their chief strategy. So we Dems do it not just to Republicans, we do it amongst ourselves!

Can you take an attempt on explaining to us as to what is an American?

This should be interesting.

nonononono - no, i just got done arguing that a kid should be able to wear a maga hat-- he can wear a hijab for all i care.

look, i dont want sharia law either. but if you can wear a maga hat, you can wear a hijab.

why? for one, there are other reasons to wear one. none of those reasons are a problem. there are several non-sharia rules in other cultures that require similar garments at certain times. focus on what matters-- this doesnt. but sure, go ahead, then we can go back to arguing why maga hats arent racist (they arent-- and a hijab doesnt mean you want sharia law, by the same logic.) if it says "make the west great again..." then, that would be an interesting thing to try to argue against. if it says "make the west islamic again"-- well, it doesnt. dont read that much into a womans scarf if you dont want people reading that much into a maga hat.

its a scarf. on a womans head.

thats not a weird arab thing, its a women all over the world at different times thing. surely there are parts of sharia worth worrying about far more-- find out if she practices those. no? then get over it.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on Saturday questioned whether Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D-Minn.) hijab is a symbol of loyalty to Sharia law, which she warned is "antithetical" to the U.S. Constitution.

Pirro made the suggestion during the opening monologue of her show "Justice with Judge Jeanine."

"Omar wears a hijab, which, according to the Quran 33:59, tells women to cover so they won't get molested," she said.

"Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?" she asked.

J.J.P. is not in the real world .

stirring up fear based on her un sustained ideation is her only contribution

You're talking about campaign issues not a never-ending broadcasting of fear and hate.

What FOX and its ilk do TODAY is UNRELENTING lies, aspersions and innuendo contributing to severe fear, hate and polarization - all done with the blessing of the WH. Trump does NOT consider himself president of anyone but those who voted for him. The rest of the country can go to hell as far as he's concerned. Trump has zero character and that lack of character and example is diminishing this nation. Instead of being our best selves - he and FOX cater to our worst selves.
