Guess the Democrats want all taxpayers to pay more tax so new mothers and fathers can have up to $12,000 to stay at home for 3 months.

So far, the goodies are California senator's $500 monthly prize for families with children, Elizabeth Warren and her free childcare proposal and Bernie Sanders proposes free college.

New proposal by the Democrats: Up to $12,000 for 3 months of paid parental leave for new fathers and mothers paid for by a new 0.4% payroll tax split between employee and employer.

They claim it will be less than $2 for the typical worker which means that the 0.4% payroll tax would generate about $4 weekly or $208 a year yet the pay-out would be up to $12,000.

Seems as though there is some strange math going on and that they would likely have to divert funds to the program or they would have to increase the taxes on the program because generating $208 a year in revenue for a program with a payout of $12,000 doesn't seem possible.

The Democrats are coming with up with a new giveaway to manipulate voters into voting for them on top of all the other giveaways.

Why not make it $130,000 AND 13 months and off for each parent, PLUS pay all their expenses like rent or house payments, utilities, insurance, health insurance, car payments, cell phone and internet service, cable TV, $2,000/month for food, and reimburse them at $1 per mile for any transportation? That way we could drop each person's individual payroll contribution to 0.1% and increase their EVIL and GREEDY employer's contribution to 20%.

After all, if we're going to make it "fair", it's hardly fair to impose all those expenses on the employees while those EVIL and GREEDY employers get off scott free is it? /sarcasm off

Trump also advocates for government paid family leave/evil socialism in his rants. Time to ditch Trump and vote for some other puppet of the billionaire class who dont need a public safety net?

I believe only Papua New Guinea and America are the two countries left without such a program. So if America joins the rest of the world, then it will be up to Papua New Guinea to carry the torch of freedom into the future... Will you move to Papua?

What are he dems answer when asked, "who is going to do their work when of for 3 months?"

"Will I have to hire someone else temporarily, and who is going to pay for it, to fill the job and then fire them when they come back to work"/

Dems seldom look "down the road" when enacting legislation. It is always about NOW.

One less religious war and this program basically pays for itself and more.

"on needless Republican wars but $12,000"

Why did you leave out the DEM wars?

Me thinks you are a bit BIASED AND NAIVE!

P.S MOST of our wars were STARTED by DEMS.

Even the Iraq war could NOT have happened WITHOUT the DEMS CoSPONSORING the bill giving W authority AND voting FOR the MONEY to conduct it..

Or maybe you just "forgot"!

Because I 100% do not buy that a $12,000 number is giving them pulse when trillions didn't.

There is a reason that the U.S. is different from other countries. If you like how other countries do it, then go live in one of those countries.

They should come back to us when the rest of the world catches up with us on EVERYTHING ELSE!

Last I checked Bush, a Republican, started Afghanistan and Iraq all by himself. He pulled the trigger. Sure some Dems agreed with him. But make no mistake, a Republican pulled the trigger to go to war. Please name a recent war that a Dem actually started?
