Again, we can't profile! So if you were to let teenagers and the elderly pass because they are assumed to be ZERO threats, why couldn't they (Muslim teenagers and elderly) smuggle in weapons or parts to IED's?
We do not have to do this to a kid obviously not hiding anything or old ladies in wheelchairs.
I commented on your misguided use of thinking that it is obvious when it is not. I told you that kids and older people have been used some without their knowledge. Those facts have nothing to do with your article and dismantles your idea about something being 'obvious.'
Try following along.
You can "tell me" whatever you want. Doesn't make them factual. Even those who support the TSA are noting that what was done here is not needed.
The agent never touched the kids crotch & the person who posted that absurd claim would know that if they had watched the video. But they are just one more in a long line of certain posters on here who just jump in to a thread to make absurd & lying claims about something they know nothing about.
Did the agent think......."This kid has nothing hidden there"?
I don’t have to deal with that. You still have to put your bag thru the scanner like everyone else. Precheck doesn’t prevent you from being pulled aside. Shrug, whatever, I didn’t care less when I got the pat down. But I laugh at all these pearl clutches on here.
I've never had to do a patdown in the precheck line. I have in the regular line.

Whether needed or not it is not obvious that they are not hiding anything.

Sure we can. Profiling works great. Screen the Muslims (or better yet make them fly on an all-muslim flight, or don't let them in here to start with) and that would cover virtually all of the threat of air terrorism in this country. If we had well-screened only muslims OR not let any in here, then 9/11 would have been avoided.
You can get precheck or global entry if you don't want to deal with patdowns or the huge scanning machines.
That said, this is still ridiculous, you should be able to tell just by looking at this kid that he is not a terrorist.
Right, you can pay them off so they don't feel you up. And then everyone is much safer for it.
Makes PERFECT sense.

I'm not talking about in theory - but in practice - it is against the law

Possibly, but good luck in getting that implemented.
