The door is wide. They can do certain things via another entity and it makes the money. As long as there’s no ethics issue, they pay the taxes and follow the rules and report it very year they become wealthy.
no they don't......I was a federal employee with secret clearance and they never ask me for my past tax returns......they will pull a credit report.
Bernie Sanders is a federal employee for decades and he has never released his tax returns.
Elected officials do not have to / and if your finance are in question -via credit bureau reports or something else they ask you to sign form 4506-t . Remember some lives are simple - live same place in USA and nothing much to report, In govt, as you well know, there a lot of people in there who have complicated lives so yes - if they want it you must release it
How about we see all the tax returns of the career politicians who went to Washington with nothing and now have millions in the bank?
The ethics can ask - if a reported wrong doing - there no law for elected officials because they didn’t create one lol! They give themselves raises too
