I hope this goes to the Supreme Court. A law that Congress has the right to see ANYBODYS tax returns is a preposterous invasion of privacy and must be thrown out.

Default NYT obtains nearly 10 years of Trump’s tax info. He lost more money than almost any other taxpayer

Now we know why mister “successful businessman” was only a successful con man. Actually he wasn’t even good at that.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...ump-taxes.html

The numbers show that in 1985, Mr. Trump reported losses of $46.1 million from his core businesses — largely casinos, hotels and retail space in apartment buildings. They continued to lose money every year, totaling $1.17 billion in losses for the decade.

In fact, year after year, Mr. Trump appears to have lost more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer, The Times found when it compared his results with detailed information the I.R.S. compiles on an annual sampling of high-income earners. His core business losses in 1990 and 1991 — more than $250 million each year — were more than double those of the nearest taxpayers in the I.R.S. information for those years.

Ohhh the irony. Moderator cut: trolling/flaming Most dispassionate folks knew something was amiss when this guy that brags so much about how rich he is would never provide proof. The guy deserves public housing behind bars.

More than any other taxpayer? How about every other taxpayer. Enjoy denialism.

Curiouser and curiouser.

So no crimes committed by Trump then. The IRS goes after tax cheats and Trump took all legal deductions. He didn't write the tax laws so who will the Loonies blame now?

Another fail for the Loonies!

The lovely thing about this story is that Trump can p & m all he wants but he won’t sue to prove it’s wrong
Because to sue would require him and his accountants and tax people giving depositions and providing ACCURATE tax information that proves the Times’s article/info is incorrect

He won’t do that
His head would explode before he could...

So likely this info is from someone at the accounting firm who did the tax prep
Or maybe someone with Deutsch Bank since Trump was having to get money from off-shore banks because no American bank would lend him money after Atlantic City fiasco

Tucker is reporting this now. No actual tax returns, just someone claiming to have legal access to the figures.

How disappointing for the Loonies. No gossip about Trump deducting his used underwear like Bill Clinton did.

Trump has talked about that time period and how it almost completely did him in.

No fan of Trump's.
This will bother him a wee bit but as he has owned how terrible he was doing that time, I'm sure he will down play that and focus on his come back.

Look -- the conservatives would use the same kind of 'stuff' to go after a liberal leader.

Politics is dirty, was dirty and will always be dirty.

The IRS has audited Trump for years so the likelihood of any financial crimes were zero to none -- and I suspect that even those pretending to be looking for financial crimes know this and it is just about proving Trump's real net worth .

Probably not the complete returns but sounds like it could be the documents used by banks, lending facilities etc.....copies of 1040;s -- doesn't mean the numbers aren't wrong.

We all know he almost lost it all during that time.

He went on Letterman and joked about almost losing everything.
This is not news...but it is a wee bit a salt in the wound for a man with an ego.
