For those of you interested in the 'showdown' with Iran, here is a link - Petraeus Points to War With Iran - by Pat Buchanan

I thought the journalist made an interesting point by saying we (U.S. military) indirectly helped the Iranians get rid alot of their geopolitical adversaries.

Opinions?!....

*noted to be sarcastic...

Unfortunately, the scenario that Mr. Buchanan sets out is not implausible. There does not seem to be any limit to the lunacy that this administration is capable of...

What a MOD CUT. Let's just give every man, woman, and child in america a rifle, and drop them in the middle east. Might as well bring this to its logical conclusion.

Yet the reports that many of the insurgents in Iraq are coming from Saudi Arabia are conveniently ignored.

I guess when you have oil all the other dirt just slides right off

The media will portray and print what they want us to believe about Iran, just like they did with Iraq. The American propaganda machine is telling us that Iran is bad and we should invade because they might attack us first.

People that under estimate the threat of radical islam don't understand the real danger of the Islamic faith. These are militant people that want to press their satanic ideology on the world. Bow to the pedophile muhammed and allah or lose your head. These are the nazi's of our time. Will we sit back and let them take over Europe, or will we be proactive in shutting down radical islam before they take over?

I'm not saying we enter a full scale war with Iran, but to write off the threat of them developing nuclear weapons is completely insane. If we don't put an end to nuclear developments in Iran, Israel sure as heck will. The whole middle east is gearing up for war. It is a sign of the times. May God have mercy on the faithful.

Seymour Hirsh's articles for The New Yorker always scare me out of my wits - the things we don't know and will never know (until it's too late of course). This is about that mysterious moment a few months ago when Israel bombed something in Syria:

Why do we have to stop them from taking over Europe ? Why can't Europe do that ?

Iran has repeated said it's for power generation and the inspectors have NOT told us it's for arms development.

Was America wrong to enter WWII? Do you actually buy what the Iranians are telling you? For the love of God, read their holy book. Those truly faithful to the teachings of Islam are hell bent on world domination. The threat is very real. I'm not saying war is justified at this point or even that it was with Iraq (in hind sight), but Ahmadinejad has verbally expressed his hatred for America and Israel (based solely on his satanic ideology). While I doubt he'd personally authorize nuclear war with the US or Israel, it wouldn't suprise me to sell nuclear arms to the highest terrorist bidder to carry out what he wants.
