I am sorry to say I agree. The country is in many ways so stupid, the only thing the sheep (sorry people) understand is which party they belong to. "If I being a republican or democrat find that the opposing party thinks that, I have to think the opposite" is the truth of the matter now for 95% of this country.
i read the Op and started googling for conformation, i have found none. The article does not even quote the mans own words. I think someone took great liberty into what he said if he said it at all.
Do you want terrorists in our country caught or not. How are we going to do that without surveillance. And I could care less who listens to my calls. But I'm sure they would be quite intrigued by some of my conversations lol
What always amazes me about politicians is that their damage control, fall back mechanism is to take the "drip drip drip" approach - let the information come out one painful piece at a time. It makes no sense to me. It never has. And yet they always do that decade after decade, politician after politician. Every day is another lie, another deceipt, another discrepancy and I keep thinking that approach has GOT to be more painful than just......getting it all out. Lay it all out on the line. Suck it up. Be embarrased. Be contrite. Promise it will never happen again, and that you're very very sorry, and there will be safeguards put in place in the future to ensure that it will never happen again, and establish some oversite committee who will keep you honest and reassure the American people. Yada yada yada etc.

As an aside, with all the stonewalling over these past weeks and months, I have become convinced that so many high level slugs would rather be thought of as incompetent, than criminal. That is why they don't know, they have no knowledge of that, they don't recall that, they will have to get back with that information.

Would you care if they listened to your calls, read your emails, read your text messages, read your FB page and your tweets and your blog posts? Would you care if they interviewed all of your friends, your co-workers, your bosses, your college classmates, your previous lovers? Would you care if they reviewed your bank statements, your credit card statements, your health records, the notes from your shrink? Would you care if they reviewed the gps in your phone or that all new vehicles contained mandatory gps's or that all newborns were microchipped just like that cute puppy sleeping by your feet as I write this? How do I know that a cute puppy is sleeping by your feet? Just a guess. Or was it?
