She loves babies. Always has. Wants to be a mom. Is forced to have an abortion. As she becomes a young women, she fully realizes what has transpired, becomes depressed and commits suicide in despair because of the guilt she feels for killing her own baby.
But that scenario would NEVER come into play in proabortion land, because abortion = good, right? Because after the abortion, she'll bounce right back! It'll be like nothing ever happened!! She's perfectly happy!! We saved her!!!!
Except .. you didn't.
Making up ridiculous stories as usual I see. All you do is embarrass yourself with your soap opera-esque scenarios.
The 11 year old (well actually her parents due to her age) should have the choice to carry the child to term (assuming that medically she’s capable of doing so) or ending the pregnancy. It’s not my business which they/she choose nor is it yours.
Go to a neighboring state that doesn’t have a heartbeat bill?
This is what I thought. She could go to Michigan.
But the fact that Ohio is seeking to place barriers like this on women is a travesty. The anti-choice activists are seeking similar bills in all states, which would take away the choice of all women.
I live in OH only 10 minutes from MI. I'm thinking of moving to MI myself due to this bill. It is disturbing how anti-choice people feel that they should be able to rate the importance of any individual over another (fetus versus woman/girl).
As a woman who has never had an abortion but who has had a miscarriage and given birth to 2 children, it is ridiculous to me that anyone should or would be able to control my own reproductive system. Pregnancy in and of itself is life threatening to a woman and especially to a girl and the woman/girl herself, her family, and her medical practitioners should be the only people involved in this sort of medical decision. Not law makers or religious nutsos trying to put their so-called 'values' on other people.
Well, yes that exactly what the poster I was responding to said.
I stand corrected - by now, exactly one person has said that. Go you. Now point out where anyone has tried to force it by law. Because that's what you and yours are doing - we can see that. No - what was it? - perspective. Just fiat.
I actually agree that it seems the only reasonable solution, but I would not have the nerve, the galling arrogance, the unbridled hubris to go in and dictate one way or the other. I have no right to meddle in that decision. Again, that distinction falls to your side of the debate. Do try to own it.
Well, yes. You believe the girl should get an abortion, right?
At eleven years old, yes. The child's body is not yet developed enough to have a safe pregnancy.
